Chargers add another target for QB Justin Herbert

The Chargers have made significant changes to their offense this offseason after another disappointing season in 2023 and need to take big strides this season to avoid wasting another year of quarterback Justin Herbert's prime. 

Along with bringing in new head coach Jim Harbaugh, bringing some instant credibility to an organization that has long lacked it, they also made significant changes to the roster.

Long-time wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams were traded and released, respectively, in salary-cap saving moves, while they also made some big additions at the NFL Draft. 

They used the No. 5 overall pick to select offensive tackle Joe Alt from Notre Dame, then added a potential impact wide receiver in Ladd McConkey in the second round from Georgia. 

They also added running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards away from the Baltimore Ravens. 

Now Chark is also added to the mix.

Chark has bounced around the NFL in recent years and is now on his fourth team in four seasons after most recently playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers in the previous three seasons.

He caught 35 passes for 525 yards and five touchdowns with the Panthers in 2023 despite not having any consistent quarterback play or a competent NFL offense around him. 

Now he is going to get an opportunity to play for a top head coach and one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL.
