The New York Knicks battled the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night at the ‘Mecca of Basketball’ in NYC in hopes of seizing a 2-0 lead over their Eastern Conference rivals. Former Pacer OG Anunoby came out firing, racking up nearly 30 points before an injury scare led to a locker room exit.

The injury situation occurred during a Jalen Brunson injury concern that stymied the Knicks’ chances at a Game Two  victory. Knicks mega fan Spike Lee had a surprise gift for Reggie Miller that had fans from the Garden to the West Coast cackling with glee.

As Wednesday night’s action unfolded, Anunoby’s injury status became a huge deal. The Knicks got a return from their budding superstar Brunson as fans wondered exactly what was happening to the athletic small forward who came over in a trade from Toronto earlier this season.

Knicks’ Anunoby the Focus of Injury Concerns

Reporter Ian Begley shared a report on the situation as Anunoby headed toward the locker room holding his left hamstring.

Fans reacted with frustration even as the Knicks clung to a lead in the fourth quarter against Coach Rick Carlisle and the Pacers.

“Bro you’ve got to be (expletive deleted) kidding me,” another fan, presumably of the Knicks, said in the comments section.

The Knicks continued to out-pace the Pacers into the early parts of the fourth quarter as Brunson returned and the team began to gel around its athletic, guard-dominated lineup against a high-flying Pacers squad.

Fans continued to lament the Anunoby injury while watching the Knicks attempt to hold on to the lead in NYC.

Anunoby was third on the team in scoring as of Wednesday according to the latest postseason stats dossier heading into the game.

Another fan appeared to blame Coach Tom Thibodeau for overplaying Anunoby during the season which may have led to the injury in their mind.

Knicks Battle Pacers in Game Two

The Knicks held a slim lead down the stretch of Game Two as they battled Carlisle’s team in a high scoring contest with both teams breaking the 100-point threshold.

T.J. McConnell and Jalen Brunson made it the battle of the little men, by NBA standards, as the game kicked into high gear down the stretch.

Anunoby was ruled out for the remainder of the game as Brunson did his best to hold down the fort.
